We combine a restless passion for music and Production with decades of industry knowledge and experience. We source, commission and licence music for any form of moving image, from features and long-running series to shorts and one-off projects. Our work ranges from supervising single productions to overseeing music across an entire company slate.

We collaborate with music and production creatives to deliver soundtracks that add drama, energy, and emotion. And we handle the deal-making, work with legal & commercial teams on contracting and oversee post-production and delivery.

Department is led by Danny Layton and Ross Sellwood, who between them have over 30 years experience as music supervisors and HoD’s. Before setting up Department, Danny was the Global Director of Music for Endemol Shine Group and Ross ran Globe Soundtrack & Score for Universal Music, based at Abbey Road Studios.
